Scientist Prepares Homemade Steam-Powered Rocket To Prove Earth Is Flat

A California man has built a rocket to prove a scientific argument that you probably haven’t heard before, that the Earth is not round, its FLAT.

Mike Hughes built the steam-powered vessel using scrap metal and it's estimated cost is about $20,000 (£15,000). Mike Hughes said, people mistakenly believe the Earth is round because of a conspiracy among astronauts. He plans to prove this theory wrong by launching himself into space and snapping a photo. He believed that we, in fact live on a flat disc.

Mr. Hughes told the Associated Press (AP), "I don’t believe in science, I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust. But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. There’s no difference between science and science fiction."

Mike Hughes plans to launch himself 1,800 feet (550 meters) high in his scrap metal contraption and fly through the air at 500mph (800kph) above the Mojave desert, It is sponsored by a flat Earth research group. Mike Hughes,"It's scary as hell, but none of us are getting out of this world alive. I like to do extraordinary things that no one else can do, and no one in the history of mankind has designed, built and launched himself in his own rocket."

This is the second time he's constructed and launched a rocket he previously flew in his own rocket in 2014. Hughes wants to run for California governorship once he lands at the weekend, after the rocket ride.
