Here are the bad sleeping habits that you should void as soon as possible.

Eating too close to bedtime

Eating too close to bedtime is harmful to your health. Avoid spicy foods they can cause acid reflux. Eat four hours before bedtime. If you're really craving a late night snack eat lite food that is easy to digest or try these foods: eggs, poultry, fish, fruit and dairy products.

Caffeine

Beverages like coffee, tea, and energy drinks will keep you awake all night. Avoid taking caffeine intake six hours before bed it can affect your sleep cycle, according to a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. The study concludes that people should avoid drinking caffeine after 5 p.m. in the evening so as to have a healthy sleep in the night.

Alcohol

According to the medical director at The London Sleep Centre in the U.K, Irshaad Ebrahim:

"Alcohol may seem to be helping you to sleep, as it helps induce sleep, but overall it is more disruptive to sleep, particularly in the second half of the night, Alcohol also suppresses breathing and can precipitate sleep apnea."

According to a sleep specialist in Scottsdale, Ariz, Michael Breus:

"Alcohol is not an appropriate sleep aid. If you rely on alcohol to fall asleep, recognize that you have a greater likelihood to sleepwalk, sleep talk, and have problems with your memory."

Using Technology before bed

People who use technology late night can have a less satisfactory sleep than those who don't. The teenagers keep playing, surfing, texting and chatting, resulting in delayed bedtime.

Sleeping beside your Mobile phones

Sleeping beside your Mobile phones not only affect your sleep it also has other health problems like the change in behavior and habits that result in stress, insomnia, poor concentration, cognitive problems, lack of productivity, irritability, nightmares, headaches, etc.

Dr. Chris Idzikowski, the director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, says: "There is now more than sufficient evidence, from a large number of reputable investigators who are finding that mobile phone exposure an hour before sleep adversely affects deep sleep."

Dr. William Kohler of the Florida Sleep Institute added: "Anything that disrupts the integrity of your sleep will potentially have adverse consequences in functioning during the day, such as grouchiness, difficulty concentrating, and in children hyperactivity and behavior problems."

Tight clothes

Wearing tight clothes throughout the night can lead to skin irritations and even infections. According to some experts sleeping naked or without underwear is good for health. Sleeping naked can help you to lose weight it can also improve blood circulation, which is good for your heart and muscles. Men who sleep in boxers or briefs can compromise the quality of their sperm. According to Dr. Brian Steixner, Director of the Institute for Men’s Health at Jersey Urology Group in the US:

"Your nether regions need to be just the right temperature in order to optimize sperm production. More bacteria makes for a higher likelihood that any chafed or irritated skin down there becomes infected."
