Even the most organized people can have a chaotic fridge. It makes it hard to find what you are looking for. Recently, a video has come out and it has some seriously good storage hacks that will help you transform your refrigerator mess into an organized space that would make your mother proud. So, check out these seriously simple hacks to organize your fridge.
Use an egg carton for your condiments.
If you have a ton of table sauces, you know what a pain it is to try to fit them all in your refrigerator. An easy way to keep them organized is to use an old egg carton. This way you can keep all of your bottles in one place on the door. The grooves of the carton will keep them together and prevent them from falling over and spilling sauce in your fridge.
Keep your fruit in old jam jars.
They say that you should keep your fruits in their original packages in order to keep them fresh, but those plastic cartons can take up a lot of space. Instead, you can store your leftover fruits in tall jam jars. This is especially good if you have a bunch of different fruits like blueberries and strawberries.
Use a tiered shelf for other sauces.
If you have a bunch of jams or table sauces that will not fit in the egg carton, they can take up a lot of space. Pick up a tiered shelf and use that to store those kinds of items. Having those tiers will also help you to be able to see all of your sauces and jams and will stop you from opening up a new jar before the old ones are finished.
Store foods in clear tubs.
You can keep your food groups separate and neat by using clear tubs. Most refrigerators can fit up to three tubs per shelf especially if you divide them up into groups like dairy and vegetables. You can also label these, so you can keep track of what is inside of each tub. You can even create an "eat first" tub in order to remind yourself of what needs to be eaten before it goes bad.
Create a meat box.
Meats are probably the riskiest thing to keep in your refrigerator. You want to keep it separate from other items in order to prevent cross-contamination, especially if the package leaks. This will also prevent smells from getting to your other foods.
Make a vegetable box
Keeping your vegetables together will help you know where to look when searching for items to go along with your meals. You should use a clear box for this, so you know exactly what is inside before pulling the box out. Also, take your vegetables out of their packaging to save space.
